Ok...got a deal on a EF100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM while in Toronto and I simply can't wait to start exploring what this lens is capable of!

Also plan on digitizing some of my 35mm b&w negatives and slides with the use of a lightbox and this lens....should be fun!

Herons are typically quite shy birds.
Took me almost an hour to get within about 50 feet as this GBH was pruning itself perched on a tree leaning over the water.

This Great Blue Heron has returned to a local nesting spot. Due to the risk of spooking these birds (and others), I tend to often shoot from the car window using the door as my tripod.
